Almost Summer...

Well, it's our last week of preschool around here and the weather is getting warmer. We are out riding our bikes and watering flowers. Today is beautiful, sunny and almost 80.
Here are a few coffee cozys (anyone have a different name for them?) I have been making. If they don't sell at my sale next week then Etsy here I come! I think they would be really cool with funky buttons...I'll be on the look out.

Happy summer!

Charming Threads Spring Quilt Show

Oh, fun! Here is another online quilt show! I love these! This is Kelly for Charming Threads Spring Quilt Show; thanks Kelly! She also has really great prizes (Moda fabric, yum!), check it out before the end of the month. I am going to enter my Flutterby Friendship Braid quilt, even though I have posted about it already. Since I'm not at Quilt Market in Pittsburgh looking around this will be a good alternative...

I'm laughing, now.

Well, as I was posting this morning my son calls me (I hear my daughter laughing at the same time)-

Son: "Mom, I don't think I was supposed to do this, but I used a kid scissors to cut her hair"
Me: {Speechless, with hand over my mouth}

My daughter has not had bangs since she was one but we had to make a trip to get her hair cut this morning because I didn't dare try to fix it. She looks younger and thankfully there is just a small section that is 1 inch long. The bangs hide that section pretty well. Well, hair grows...

One is these kids looks happy and the other a bit guilty if you ask me...check out the hair on the floor!

I know...we'll laugh about this later...but her hair was so cute the way it was. :)

Family, Fun and Flying

Where is this month going? It is flying by fast! I finally finished my Dandelion Girl quilt! I really like how it turned out and I was able to bind it with my Grandma and learn a few new tricks.
Now it sits on my bed waiting for some coordinating pillows.

This last week we have spent time fishing with Grandma and Grandpa at their lake home.

We have spend time visiting Great Grandma and Great Aunts and Great Uncles.

Chuck even built a cool racetrack in about 2 minutes!

We have been busy on the new playset, too.

Beautiful flowers for Mother's Day topped it all off...

Well, my son just cut my daughter's hair, more on that later...

My Bad Habit, Revealed.

I finally got a hold of a reusable cold cup at Starbucks the other day. This is huge for me because I really like my coffee, and I tried to find these all last summer. They are sold out again but I hope to get another before long. Now I don't need to dump extra plastic into the garbage all the time...of course I could limit my stops at the drive thru...no, this is better!

My sister-in-law Janet and I were just hanging out one day and decided we needed to make some little coffee cup decor...they do work nicely and are bright and cheerful. Janet is great at remembering hers when we hit the coffee shop but I often forget. I hope to get a few made before my garage sale at the end of the month, maybe I'll sell a few!

I used fabric and batting scraps, a button and my daughters hair binder for this one. I just traced the cardboard sleeve you can pick up with your coffee. Quick and fun.

My little helper-

She cleans bathrooms, scrubs floors, washes cars and helps in the kitchen. Her favorite thing to do it crack eggs. She's really good at it too! This girl is happiest when she is helping me around the house and I'm so grateful. Last week we had to make cookies (thanks to a cup of sugar from the neighbor!) Yum!

She even holds up quilts...can you see that cute face?

My goal is to finish this one by Friday...better get sewing.

Not many of these days left!

We were really excited to head to the Minnesota Zoo last week with our Aunt and Cousin. It was the first long walking day for us without a stroller...a milestone. We had such a good time and the day was perfect! If we lived closer we would have a membership; we could go there every week and learn and see something new. The kids have been talking about the monorail ever since. I'll spare you the animal photos and give you some smiles-
