Hurray for Blogger's Quilt Festival!

Blogger's Quilt Festival is here!

Honestly, this online quilt festival is one of the best things about blogging!  I love to check out everyones ideas and inspiration.

Welcome to my blog and please make yourself at home and click around!  It has been a busy spring for me: a few quilts here and there and excitement in starting up another chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild.

The quilt that I want to share this go-around is my Four Square Quilt.  I just finished it a few weeks ago.  I used all Simple Abundance fabric from Bonnie and Camille for Moda.  I ended up using a charm pack, a few fat quarters and some yardage.

This quilt was fun for me because a branched out into straight line quilting and pieced it as I went without much of a plan.  I really enjoy that process of just "playing around" and I am trying to do it more!

I am taking the leap into long arm quilting with a class on Monday so if you want to check back, I'll share my beginner's take on that.  Welcome to everyone in town for quilt market!!  We love Minneapolis and we hope you do too!

Thanks Amy for hosting this...such an exciting event!

Your straight line quilting looks great! I wonder how that would be to do on a long arm? It's quite the project on a regular machine! Beautiful quilt!

Love those fabrics.

Love your quilt. It's a little bit like Bonnie Hunter's Bricks and Stones pattern, but not as small of pieces--so this would make a great stashbuster and it's simplicity really lets the fabrics sing. Thanks for sharing!

Very beautiful quilt work !

Nicely done. I like your creative way of hanging it for the photos. Did your kids have anything to say about you using the swing set for that unusual purpose?

The turquoise is a great "pop" of colour in this simple but beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing it!

I'll be checking back to hear about your longarm class. It's something I'd love to try someday.

Stunning quilt - I used to tell myself all the time that brown was my least favorite color, and now it's the color I go to most often in quilts. Thanks for sharing!

I think this quilt is fantastic. Love your fabrics and the design. In one photo the brown floral looks like a brown spot. Either way yellow/chocolate combo is yummy.
